10 Teams for 2014

What will happen when 10 high-tech Rollers hit the track? Vegas will have a hard time setting odds for this one...

2013 was a trial year with just four teams. The 2014 Trophy Race will have a track full of Solar Rollers thanks to 10 teams from Colorado high schools.

Kit teams are basing their cars on established designs and received a complete set of parts -  these teams will still be doing extensive design and hands-on work to complete their cars.

Custom teams are using parts they source themselves and designing from scratch.

New for 2014 - The Online Pit Area

The Solar Rollers Online Pit Area is the central resource for you and your team. It is intended to provide all of the information you'll need to move forward: written instructions, video tutorials and active discussion forums specific to a number of topics...

Building a Solar Roller from scratch takes planning, persistence and time. In a high school setting time is often the bottleneck. So we've created an online resource that takes teachers and teams through the process of designing and building a car.

It has never been our goal to tell teams the best way to build these cars. Instead we offer as much support as possible to help teams create their own unique vehicles. The Online Pit Area provides written advice, videos showing how others have done it, and discussion forums to address questions on all kinds of related topics.
